* The Joes and Pros Trout Championship has a zero-tolerance policy on cheating. A polygraph examiner will be on site the day of the tournament. All anglers agree to undergo a polygraph examination by registering for this tournament. Tournament staff may polygraph an angler without any explanation. Should an angler be found cheating, they are immediately disqualified and banned from the tournament for life.

* Anglers are responsible for following all state fishing regulations including size and bag limits

* Each registered angler is only able to win one award per category except as otherwise noted

  • Live fish are allowed to be entered and is encouraged
  • 1 Redfish over the size of 27” may be submitted into this category

  • The largest redfish overall will be named the winner

  • If the submitted Redfish breaks the state record …

    • Any angler wishing to have a fish considered as having broken the official all tackle Mississippi state record weight for the specified species must have complied with all rules and regulations governing such records including those of the Joes & Pros Trout Championship Tournament, IGFA, and State of Mississippi. Witness affidavits will be required and the angler subject to passing a polygraph examination. Any cash awards are contingent upon the State of Mississippi certifying the record and SCA confirmation of the catch and State of Mississippi certification. The most current Mississippi State Saltwater Fishing Rules are to be followed and are available for review at:
  • Anyone who pays the $100 entry fee is automatically registered into this category

  • Anglers entered into this category are also eligible to place in the other categories


How We Measure

Total Length is measured from the most forward point of the head, with the mouth closed, to the farthest tip of the tail with the tail compressed or squeezed, while the fish is lying on its side.
